Canuck Librarian

I'm a reference librarian at an academic institution and I am interested in all areas that help improve the user experience including information literacy, digital services and much more. I used to be a cataloguer and I still believe Dewey is more fun than LCC.

OLITA AGM and Reception

Our Ontario

Turn out was pretty good once again for OLITA's AGM - and I don't think it's just the free food since there are several other receptions going on at the same time.

The AGM is mainly the time to announce the OLITA Technological Innovation Award.

"OurOntario.ca is an impressive and ambitious undertaking to centralize access to the digital collections of this province's libraries, archives, museums and more. It is innovative in both its scope and its pursuit of providing a measure of regional search to a field dominated by large foreign corporations."

For more info, see the OLA blog .

This picture shows the sponsors of the award (OCLC Canada) handing the award to Art Rhyno, Chair of the OurOntario committee.
