Canuck Librarian

I'm a reference librarian at an academic institution and I am interested in all areas that help improve the user experience including information literacy, digital services and much more. I used to be a cataloguer and I still believe Dewey is more fun than LCC.

PAradise is a library

The Globe and Mail

This article about Alberto Manguel reminds us of his mentor, Jorge Luis Borges.

What's fun for one, isn't fun for all.

It seems that a few people don't agree with the idea of googlebombing - particularly librarians who do so....But some are saying that we are exploiting what others see as relevant information (or something like that). If anyone thinks google is reliable and always truly gives the most relevant results, than that person is deluded. I think that this googlebomb is just a fun (and not malicious) way of showing that even the great Google (which I use frequently) has its faults.

Library Stuff

Googlebombing anyone?

So I was just thinking, one of the best places to find information is the Library of Congress ;) and one of the best web directory out there is the Librarian's Index to the Internet
